About

We help you run your own email infrastructure — the right way.

autopmta is tooling and services for deploying and operating a self-hosted sending platform on PowerMTA or KumoMTA. We turn a bare server into a complete, authenticated, monitored email operation — and we do it only for legitimate, permission-based senders.

What we do

A complete sending platform, on infrastructure you own

Sending one email is trivial. Sending serious volume that reliably reaches the inbox is not — it takes correct authentication, isolated IP reputation, per-provider throttling, careful warm-up and structured visibility into what delivered, deferred and bounced. Most of that is fiddly, unforgiving work that quietly decides whether your mail lands or disappears into spam.

Our flagship, the Auto PMTA Configurator, automates the whole of it: from a clean server to a sending, authenticated, monitored platform in under an hour, on PowerMTA 6.0r2/5.x or KumoMTA. For KumoMTA it even generates an administrative panel the project doesn’t ship, so you get modern open-source economics with point-and-click operability. Around that we offer done-for-you setup, managed deliverability, migration, and focused work like audits, blacklist removal and DMARC deployment. And we publish a deep library of documentation, free tools and honest comparisons — useful whether or not you ever become a customer.

Why we exist

The email-infrastructure world is full of shortcuts. We took the other road.

Search for a way to send at scale and you’ll trip over cracked PowerMTA bundles, “unlimited” sending promises and shared-license schemes. They install fast and collapse faster — unlicensed software you can’t update, attached to the kind of sending that gets IP ranges blocked within weeks. We built autopmta because the honest path needed good tooling too: legitimate senders shouldn’t have to choose between a fragile gray-market shortcut and weeks of manual setup.

So we automate the legitimate version. A setup designed for senders who want to be in the inbox for years looks nothing like one designed to blast a list once and rebuild after the block — and everything we make is built for the first kind of sender. That stance costs us some business, and we’re fine with that. It’s the whole point.

What we stand for

Four principles we don’t bend

Licensed or open-source — never cracked

For PowerMTA you bring your own valid license; for KumoMTA you run free, open-source software. We never bundle, resell, “null” or crack an engine. A setup built on a cracked binary is one bad day from collapse — we won’t build on sand.

Opt-in only

Everything we make assumes permission-based lists and real authentication. We don’t do “unlimited” sending, filter evasion or bought lists, because that’s the sending that gets IP ranges blocked within weeks.

Honest over hype

We’ll tell you when you don’t need us — when Postfix is enough, or when a hosted API fits better. Tooling that oversells itself costs you more than it saves.

You own it

Your server, your IPs, your configuration. Everything we deploy is reproducible and auditable, not a black box you rent and can’t read.

Engine-agnostic by design

PowerMTA or KumoMTA — we don’t have a dog in that fight

Plenty of vendors push the one engine they sell. We support both the commercial standard and the open-source challenger, because the right answer depends on you, not on us. PowerMTA is the mature, vendor-supported workhorse; KumoMTA is the free, modern, Rust-based successor built by PowerMTA’s own architect. Our Configurator deploys and manages either, so you choose on the merits — cost, support, architecture — and we’ll give you the honest comparison rather than steer you toward whatever pays us more.

When the honest answer is a tool we don’t deploy — Halon for deep scripting, or plain Postfix because you simply haven’t outgrown it — we’ll tell you that too. Our alternatives roundup exists precisely so you can make an informed call.

Who we’re for

Built for serious, legitimate senders

We fit ESPs, agencies sending for clients, SaaS platforms with heavy transactional mail, and in-house teams who send real, permission-based volume and want to own and control their sending. Whether you want to run the platform yourself, have us stand it up, or hand the whole thing off, the clean build underneath is the same — the only difference is who operates it.

We’re not for everyone, and we say so plainly. If you send modest volume, a hosted service is probably simpler and cheaper. And if you came looking for a way to send without consent or without a license, we’re not your vendor — by design. That clarity is part of the deal: we’d rather point you to the right answer than sell you the wrong one.

Where we stand

European-priced, privacy-minded, independent

We price in euros and build with European requirements in mind — the 2026 Gmail, Yahoo and Microsoft bulk-sender rules, GDPR, and the reality that many senders want their infrastructure under their own control rather than on a hosted provider’s shared reputation. We’re independent: not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Bird/Port25 or any engine vendor. PowerMTA, KumoMTA and other product names are trademarks of their owners.

Our own products are ad-free and tracking-free, our free tools run entirely in your browser, and our company details are public in the Legal Notice. If transparency about who you’re buying from matters to you — and for infrastructure this important, it should — that’s exactly the standard we hold ourselves to.
